New Year, "New You"

It's a new year (2024) and with it comes all the resolutions we concoct. The fact is, unless we have determination and proper planning, most resolutions fail within the first three months of making them. The main problem is that people create broad goals and when these goals aren't met right away, people give up hope and move on.
In order to be successful in anything, we need to realize nothing comes easy and quickly. We need to develop obtainable goals and update them as these goals are met. For example, if one wants to be more active but isn't in the best of shape, that person can make a goal of walking around the block once every day for a month. Following that, they can do two blocks every day for the next month. Then they can progress even further after a routine has been successfully met.
It is a combination of determination and carefully constructing a solid gameplan to achieve whatever goal you want. These goals also have to be something you actually want to complete. If you feel a strong dislike for something or have a gut feeling that you won't be happy, then it is not worth pursuing. Too many times we force things on ourselves only to make things uncomfortable. We should pursue new and exciting things but only if it has the potential of enriching our lives, even if it is just a slight difference, it may be worth the effort.
